Conference Themes
ECSA 44 focuses on the Science and Management of Estuaries and Coasts, with
emphasis on the interactions between physical and biological processes. Contributions
on the theory, modeling, and field studies in the following topics are welcome:
- Fundamental physical processes determining conditions for biota
- Local role of coastal areas in world wide processes and functioning
- Fate of organic matter produced in estuarine and coastal systems
- Role of biota in modifying the physical and chemical conditions of the environment
- Defining modern environmental management terminology in an operational way
- Combinations of ecological and socio-economic models
- Judging the system species structure and system functioning
- Comparing the effects of climate change and human activities in a quantitative way
- Comparing effects of pollution to that of other factors like climate change and human activities
